Here is some information about Brother Herbert H.S. Addington from Temple Lodge, No. 33 records:

"...An application was then made by Mr. H.H. Addington of the town of Duncans, Occupation (Farmer). Application made by Bro. J.M. Mutter and Sec. by Bro. Samuel Robinson. Carried.

The Worshipful Master then appointed on committee of application of Mr. H. Addington Bros. Harry Smith, Wm. Gidley, James Evans..."

"...The application of Cap. H.H. Addington was also taken up [and] a ballot ordered after which the W.M. declared Cap. H.H. Addington duly elected to become a member of this Lodge by initiation....

The application of Cap. H.H. Addington was then read with a favourable report of the committee on the same. Bro. Evans moved, and Bro. Robinson J.W. seconded the motion to accept the application and discharge the committee. Motion Carried..."

[Note: the applications of Robert Telford and Melville Franklin Lucas for Initiation into Temple Lodge were also accepted at this meeting.]

"...Cap. H.H. Addington also a candidate for initiation [and] being in waiting, was then duly prepared, brought forward [and] initiated as an Entered Apprentice, he paying the usual fee..."

[Note: Thomas Pitt was also initiated at this meeting]

"...Cap. H.H. Addington was examined in the E.A. degree and being found proficient Bro. J.W. moved and Bro. S.D. seconded that he be passed to the more honourable degree of a Fellow Craft. (Carried)

The W.M. then ordered the Lodge from Labour to Refreshment and opened again at 9 o'clock in the Fellow Craft degree, when Bro. Addington being in waiting was passed to the more honourable degree of a Fellow Craft......"
